PETER HACKMAN
In 1960, Peter began creating construction paper scenery for a penny theater.
These years of experience allowed him to provide scenery for his fourth grade
production of Hamlet at St. Dominie's School. He was hooked!
After college, a tenure at scenery supplier Merrill Stone Associates and
what was essentially an apprenticeship with chargeman Dan Sollors, prepared
him to become a member of Local 350 in 1982. Peter's first film was A
Christmas Story in 1983.
After moving to New York and joining United Scenic Artist's Local 829, Peter
took his first job as Camera Scenic for Orphans (1986).
The next 15 years were spent as a Camera Scenic up to Summer of Sam
after which he became Jon Ringbom's Scenic Foreman.
Highlights for Peter are: Six Degrees of Separation (1993), Pollock (1999),
Marci X (2001), and recently Angels in America for HBO (2004).
Peter has more recently been the Charge Artist for 8 episodes of "Damages"
and the Scenic Forman on the films Freedomland, Enchanted and Deception.
