JANET STAPELMAN -Educational Director of The Studio and Forum

Janet studied scenic painting with Lester Policov and received her Certificate

of Scene Painting.   After becoming a USA 829 Member in 1979, she joined 

the Noland's Scenery Studio which was renowned in its day for producing 

quality Broadway scenery.  Her other employment includes Hudson Scenic 

Studio and Variety Scenery Studios, Scenic Art Studios, and is currently a 

lead drop painter at Showman Fabricators in Brooklyn.

Janet has lent her talents to a variety of projects over the years including: 

Evita, 42nd Street (1980 & 2001), Hello Dolly, Into the Woods, Hairspray 

(Broadway & the Tours), Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat,

Les Miserables, The Lion King, The Producers, (Broadway & the Tours), 

Sunday In The Park With George, Cats, and  A Chorus Line.  

Other New York venues include numerous productions for New York City 

Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Radio City Music Hall,  and A Christmas Carol at 

Madison Square Garden.  

The creation of The Studio and Forum has been her passion for the  last four 

years -back
