The third year introduces a new form of ensemble painting. The class teacher turns the students over to master scenic artists in the Studio classes. Thesemaster artists will act as lead artist on three to five week projects. In addition, the class will be divided into crews where three to five students will work together on one project. The lead artist will take the crew step-by-step through the work and each crew will be responsible for the successful completion of the project in the man-days allotted. In this way, students begin to experience the dynamics of a typical working situation and begin to develop the cooperative skills necessary in the business. At the end of the last semester, there will be a portfolio review. Students will be able to spend the last four weeks of Studio classes with their class teacher preparing their portfolio. We require all students to go through this process whether or not their career goals include Union Membership. MASTER CLASS TOPICS INCLUDE
-Interpreting Computer Generated Sketches (4 sessions)
