Kyle Higgins, School Administrator

      Kyle Higgins grew up outside of Seattle. After graduating from the University of Washington with a BA in Art and Drama, she moved to NYC where she earned her MFA in Design for Stage from NYU. She joined the United Scenic Artists local 829 as a Scenic Artist and   Scenic Designer.  She worked as the Scenic Charge for the Cosby Show, has worked on movies and in many of the theatrical supply shops in NY city . Kyle spent over 19 years at Hudson Scenic Studio where she was a Lead Artist and served as the USA 829 Shop Steward .
       Kyle has taught Scenic Art, Drawing and Model Building in the NYU Undergraduate theatre program.  She worked as a costume shop seamstress and taught sewing and drafting in the UMass Amherst Theater Department.  Kyle has designed sets and costumes for UMass Amherst and her scenic models for designer Eduardo Sicangco can be seen in Lynn Pecktal’s book, Designing and Drawing for the Theater.               
         During her time in Amherst, she has been the Scenic Designer for many theatre companies in Massachusetts  .  For the past ten years Kyle has designed scenery for Lehman College in the Bronx, NY, where she is now their Resident Scenic Designer.   Currently, when not working at Lehman College, Kyle can be found working in her studio, out plein air painting, or in a joint studio working on ceramics.
