Diane Fargo has an MFA in Theater Design from Brandeis University. She has taught at Boston University since 2001. Her classes include History of Period Styles, Advanced Drawing and Scene Painting Studio. In 2008, she established and now mentors the 2 yr. Scene Painting Certificate Program at the School of Theater. In that time, 20 students have graduated from that program; many have joined the union and are working at high levels in  professional theater, tv and film. Diane has worked in many regional theaters across the U.S. as well as on Broadway and off Broadway productions. She was Charge Artist on three national tours and provided interior decorative painting for the Skylight Opera Theater. Other projects include store and window display, and event decor for such companies as SAP, Tiffany and Co., IBM, Exxon, Valentinoʼs, Foxwoods, Bellagio, and Mohegan Sun casinos.

Ms. Fargo has taught Set Design and Drafting at SUNY Albany and Scene Painting at Cobalt Studios. Diane was adjunct faculty for 5 yrs at both Brooklyn and Ramapo Colleges, teaching courses in scene painting. Ms. Fargo was the Charge Artist at Goodspeed Musicals for 19 years.  In partnership with Goodspeed Musicals she has created a yearly Scene Painting Intensive course; in partnership with the Williamstown Theater Festival Diane created a yearly summer scene painting intensive for staff and interns.

She has acted as a consultant for paint products at Rosco Labs since 1988. Over the past 10 years, Diane has created a new business venture: D. Fargo Projects, an Interior Design and Renovation company. She has worked for numerous commercial and residential clients and acted as project manager and design consultant on many large scale renovation projects in the NYC area. Presently, the company is working on projects in Park Slope, Bed Sty and Cobble Hill.
