My professional career began after I graduated with a degree in fine art from FLAGLER college
in St. Augustine FL. After school I started working as an apprentice in a local scene shop and became a
member of IATSE local 311. With a background in metal fabrication, sculpture in metal, and a healthy
interest in mechanics I found myself working more in automation and fabrication rather than art. After
some time, I began working at a fine art foundry making sculpture. During my time at the foundry I
continued to work in theater on the side along with other fabrication work in auto racing. After eight
years at the foundry, I returned to theater full time, still primarily in fabrication. After spending more
than decade in that discipline at the same company I moved over to leading the Art department and
became a member of USA local 829.
